There is some OnTrack software on the drive which kicks in at boot and that is probably why I have been able to use it fully.

Therefore capacity cannot be recovered. Any ideas? Every other OS does this correctly. Ahci Driver You would have to boot from another source (another hard drive for example).

The USB ports all work fine. Sometimes a very broken hard drive may report wrong capacity. Your program fixed my WD400 drive perfectly in a few minutes.

I wont stress over the loss of such a small amount of gb.

Reply Yeah2 August 27, 2016 at 6:02 am Still not recognize. This looks exactly like a BIOS 137 GB problem from outside. All this "you'll see it here". What I wonder is could this be portableized to run from a USB key or the like?

HarshReality on February 5, 2008 6:12 pm I do not see any problem

Reply Robert July 26, 2016 at 9:35 am Very interesting, but I only got half way as when I R/Click on the drive the menu is Grayed out except for "Properties http://skdcom.com/windows-7/sp1-update-problem.html I have a 1TB Seagate drive which I use without any problem in a Windows 7 PC and some notebooks I have..

Enter your wonderful program (thank you and thank google!) and it inmediately detected the wrong 69GB capacity, the correct 80GB, and allowed me to restore it. But it was the same procedure as before: First Vista installs the standard volume and the driver for my WD1200JB HDD. The HDD is also split into 4 different sub-folders now. when i go to properties he only detecs 127G .

The speed was terribly slow. I think connecting it to a Win XP SP2 laptop via an old Maxtor OneTouch I USB enclosure was to blame.
